Following a phantom robin through the painted caves of Lascaux’s ‘hall of the horses’, takes THE SPIRIT OF DELPHI SHARPE, AN AUTISTIC TEENAGE GIRL IN A COMA, ON A POSTHUMOUS SEARCH FOR THE BOY IN A 500-YEAR-OLD PAINTING SHE FELL IN LOVE WITH.

Delphi must rally her lost soul to rival her next incarnation implanted with her memories and dreams to win back the love of her life. Her extraordinary challenges as an orphaned autistic child, newly introduced to unfamiliar books and television, has left her with the strange delusion that HER MOTHER IS THE ‘MONA LISA’ AND HER FATHER IS ‘DR WHO’.

But Delphi’s extrasensory abilities to converse with birds and paintings, drive her to reunite with THE PORTRAIT OF ‘CECCO’, FRANCESCO MELZI, LEONARDO DA VINCI’S FAVORITE APPRENTICE.

Will it take two lives to complete one woman when Delph’s soul is reborn too soon after a near-death-experience?

‘The Indigo Pearl’ and its conclusion ‘Pearl by Pearl’ are available here for under $3 each:

SNIPPET from page one of ‘THE INDIGO PEARL’ by V Knox – *book one of two:

[The first time a painting spoke to me I was three. That was in 1990, when I was still Delphi Sharpe.

The view from the orphanage window was a watercolor blur of blue and green as the first spatter of spring rain tapped hello, lightly on the glass. I waved at a robin hopping over the lawn, trying to dodge the raindrops. As I giggled and pressed my nose against the window, a woman’s voice called out behind me, “My brother loved birds too.” It came from a book on Renaissance Art.

Old Sister Theresa thumped a stack of picture books on the table behind me and groaned into a low chair. “Delphi, come away from that window. Let’s look at these shall we? Which one would you like?” She fanned them into a rainbow with her arthritic fingers.

A lady’s face on one of the covers gazed lovingly at me, and I drew it out like a card from a magician’s trick.]
